Join us for a free open house on Friday, September 4th from 4 PM-8PM at 7693 Farm to Market Road 536, Floresville, TX 78114.

Visitors can view our Buffalo relatives from the gate, join short tours and talks led by our team throughout the day, and learn about our approach to rematriation, regenerative land practices, and food sovereignty at our education booth. Frozen bison meat will also be available for purchase; bring your cooler with ice!

This open house is an invitation to witness what Indigenous-led stewardship looks like in practice. We care for our Buffalo relatives every day, and we welcome you.

Each Saturday you can find us at the weekly Bastrop Farmers Market, which takes place from 10 AM to 2 PM at 1302 Chestnut St., Bastrop, TX.

Join us for a free open house on Saturday, July 25th from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at 2463 FM 1296, Waelder, TX. No registration is required, just a quick sign-in at the gate.

As a Lipan Apache-led initiative, we model Indigenous-led land stewardship across the Southern Plains, and we want our community and partners to see this work firsthand. Visitors can view our Buffalo relatives from the gate, join short tours and talks led by our team throughout the day, and learn about our approach to rematriation, regenerative land practices, and food sovereignty at our education booth. Frozen bison meat will be available for purchase, and a food truck will be on-site serving bison tacos, water, and sweet tea.

Join the Texas Tribal Buffalo Project for a morning of land stewardship and community connection. We're gathering volunteers to steward 3 miles of Texas highway outside Waelder, TX and we'd love for you to be part of it.

TxDOT provides safety vests, gloves, and bags. We provide water throughout the morning. After the cleanup, we'll gather at the park for a picnic lunch.

What to bring:

• Comfortable clothing

• Closed-toe shoes

• Hat

The 2026 Buffalo Harvest, hosted by Texas Tribal Buffalo Project in collaboration with Indigenous Led's Buffalo Beyond Borders annual event, invites you to participate in a traditional Buffalo Harvest honoring the life and sustenance these relatives provide.

Together, we will butcher and harvest Buffalo meat for donation to the San Antonio Equity Network and our Meat for Mamas program. Throughout the day, programmed Tipi Talks will feature critical conversations led by the women leading the rematriation of Buffalo on the Southern Plains.

This intertribal and intergenerational gathering takes place on 150 acres of rematriated and reclaimed land in Floresville, Texas.

The Texas Tribal Buffalo Project is proud to be a vendor at the Austin Powwow & Native American Heritage Festival, the largest one-day powwow in the country. This vibrant event features traditional Native American drumming, dancing, arts, crafts, and cultural exhibits.

Volunteer Responsibilities (General / TBD):

• Assist with booth setup and breakdown

• Engage with attendees and share information about TTBP’s mission and programs

• Support sales and educational materials

• Help maintain a welcoming and informative booth environment

Availability: Volunteers can sign up for shifts throughout the day. Specific time slots will be provided closer to the event.

Join us at the Come and Take it Farmers Market in Gonzalez, TX, on the 3rd Saturday of each month as an ambassador for the Texas Tribal Buffalo Project! Volunteers help set up and run our booth, educate the public on Buffalo's cultural importance, and sell USDA-certified buffalo meat. It's perfect for those passionate about Indigenous foodways, sustainability, and community outreach.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with booth setup and breakdown (tent, tables, signage, coolers)

• Greet and engage customers in a friendly, welcoming manner

• Share talking points about the sacred role of the buffalo in Native culture and TTBP’s mission

• Handle packaged meat sales, including basic inventory tracking and cash/card transactions (training provided)

• Maintain cleanliness and proper food handling standards at the booth

• Answer basic questions or refer to staff for detailed info

• Help with outreach by distributing flyers or signing people up for our volunteer newsletter and TTBP email list.

A Local Market for Local Producers

Our Farmers Market is rooted in land, culture, and food sovereignty. We prioritize vendors within 200 miles of Floresville (78114) who grow, raise, make, or craft their own products with care and intention. We welcome small-scale producers, BIPOC-led businesses, and value-added artisans whose work connects people to place.

Join Us for a Highway Clean-Up Event!

Are you passionate about preserving the beauty of our community and protecting the environment? Join us for a highway clean-up event where we'll come together to make a difference!

We will meeting at a designated space nearby. Please arrive 30 mins prior to event for the distribution of safety vests and brief orientation to review safety tips. We will meet at our Waelder buffalo ranch @9:30am for time with the buffalo and a tour with our ranch manager before we start the clean-up at 10:30AM  and will be having a picnic after at Wealder City Park located at N 5th St, Waelder, TX 78959 which will end at 3:00pm

What to Expect

• Meet the Herd at our buffalo ranch and get a tour from our Ranch Manager before heading to help Keep Texas Beautiful Trash Pickup, followed by post hot dog volunteer picnic.

• Teamwork: Work alongside fellow volunteers to clean up litter and debris along our local highways.

• Community Spirit: Connect with like-minded individuals who share a commitment to keeping our roads clean and safe.

• Impact: Make a tangible difference in reducing pollution and enhancing the beauty of our surroundings.
