The Texas Tribal Buffalo Project is opening our gates to the community.

Join us for a free open house on Saturday, July 25th from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at 2463 FM 1296, Waelder, TX. No registration is required, just a quick sign-in at the gate.

As a Lipan Apache-led initiative, we model Indigenous-led land stewardship across the Southern Plains, and we want our community and partners to see this work firsthand. Visitors can view our Buffalo relatives from the gate, join short tours and talks led by our team throughout the day, and learn about our approach to rematriation, regenerative land practices, and food sovereignty at our education booth. Frozen bison meat will be available for purchase, and a food truck will be on-site serving bison tacos, water, and sweet tea.

This open house is an invitation to witness what Indigenous-led stewardship looks like in practice. We care for our Buffalo relatives every day, and we welcome you to walk this land with us on July 25th.
