
Come and Take It Farmers Market
Join us at the Come and Take it Farmers Market in Gonzalez, TX, on the 3rd Saturday of each month as an ambassador for the Texas Tribal Buffalo Project! Volunteers help set up and run our booth, educate the public on Buffalo's cultural importance, and sell USDA-certified buffalo meat. It's perfect for those passionate about Indigenous foodways, sustainability, and community outreach.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with booth setup and breakdown (tent, tables, signage, coolers)
Greet and engage customers in a friendly, welcoming manner
Share talking points about the sacred role of the buffalo in Native culture and TTBP’s mission
Handle packaged meat sales, including basic inventory tracking and cash/card transactions (training provided)
Maintain cleanliness and proper food handling standards at the booth
Answer basic questions or refer to staff for detailed info
Help with outreach by distributing flyers or signing people up for our volunteer newsletter and TTBP email list.

33rd Annual Austin Powwow
The Texas Tribal Buffalo Project is proud to be a vendor at the Austin Powwow & Native American Heritage Festival, the largest one-day powwow in the country. This vibrant event features traditional Native American drumming, dancing, arts, crafts, and cultural exhibits.
Volunteer Responsibilities (General / TBD):
Assist with booth setup and breakdown
Engage with attendees and share information about TTBP’s mission and programs
Support sales and educational materials
Help maintain a welcoming and informative booth environment
Availability: Volunteers can sign up for shifts throughout the day. Specific time slots will be provided closer to the event.

Sacred Springs Pow Wow
Texas Tribal Buffalo Project will be vending at the Sacred Springs Powwow, sharing our Indigenous-led buffalo conservation work and community programs. We’re seeking enthusiastic volunteers to help with our booth, engage with attendees, and support our activities during the two-day event.

Share information about TTBP programs and initiatives
Help with merchandise or educational materials
Support team with visitor interactions

Our Farmers Market is rooted in land, culture, and food sovereignty. We prioritize vendors within 200 miles of Floresville (78114) who grow, raise, make, or craft their own products with care and intention. We welcome small-scale producers, BIPOC-led businesses, and value-added artisans whose work connects people to place.

National Bison Day
Celebrate National Bison Day with Texas Tribal Buffalo Project! We’ll be sharing our mission to protect buffalo, honor Indigenous heritage, and educate the public about bison conservation. Volunteers are needed to help at our booth and engage with attendees.

Veterans Day BBQ
We will be hosting our Veterans Day BBQ & Open House at our buffalo ranch in Floresville, TX to honor our Veterans . This event is a unique opportunity to show support for those who have served, engage with the community, and connect our Veterans with the healing medicine of our Iyanee Buffalo relatives and each other.
We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers to help ensure the success of this meaningful event. If you have a passion for community engagement, conservation, or giving back to our Veterans we encourage you to sign up!
Volunteer Opportunities:
1. BBQ Grillers & Kitchen Assistants
Role: Help prepare and serve food at the BBQ. Volunteers will assist with grilling, food prep, plating, and ensuring that guests have everything they need to enjoy the meal.
2. Check-in & Registration Volunteers
Role: Welcome guests to the event, check in attendees, and provide event programs and information. You'll be the first face many guests see, so a friendly and welcoming demeanor is key!
3. Parking & Traffic Coordinators
Role: Direct parking and help guests find parking spots in an organized manner. You'll ensure smooth traffic flow and assist guests in finding the event entrance.
4. Guided Ranch Tours
Role: Assist guests on informative tours of the buffalo ranch, sharing the history and significance of the bison to Native American culture, as well as the work being done at the Texas Tribal Buffalo Project
5. Event Set-Up & Clean-Up Crew
Role: Assist with setting up tables, chairs, decorations, and event signage prior to the BBQ, and help with breaking down and cleaning up after the event.
