Texas Tribal Buffalo Project Wins $1,000 GiveNative “Running on Indian Time” Prize

We are thrilled to announce that Texas Tribal Buffalo Project (TTBP) has been named a winner of the GiveNative on Giving Tuesday “Running on Indian Time” Prize for Region 2 – Large Organizations!

About the Running on Indian Time Prize

The Running on Indian Time Prize was part of GiveNative on Giving Tuesday, an annual national giving movement supporting Native-led and Native-serving nonprofits.

  • $1,000 prizes awarded to 8 nonprofits

  • 4 small organizations and 4 large organizations

  • Every donation made between December 3 and December 9 automatically entered nonprofits into the Late Giving Period random drawing

  • Prizes were officially drawn on December 10

In total, GiveNative on Giving Tuesday featured 64 prizes totaling $65,000, providing critical funding opportunities for Indigenous organizations across the country.

Being chosen as a prize winner is a wonderful honor and a heartfelt acknowledgment of the great work TTBP is doing to support Indigenous food sovereignty, cultural revitalization, and Buffalo rematriation.

First-Year Participation, Big Impact

This year marked a major milestone for TTBP—it was our first time participating in GiveNative on Giving Tuesday, and the response was incredible:

  • $1,380 raised

  • 15 generous donors

  • $1,000 prize award

Thanks to the collective support of our community, donors, and advocates, this campaign exceeded expectations and demonstrated the strength of Indigenous-led fundraising efforts.

Thank You for Supporting Native-Led Nonprofits

We sincerely appreciate everyone who donated, shared, and supported the Texas Tribal Buffalo Project during GiveNative on Giving Tuesday. Your kindness and support mean so much and help Indigenous communities flourish now and into the future.
