BLIS Collective: TTBP Awarded Radical Collaboration Fund Grant
We're honored to share that the Texas Tribal Buffalo Project's Women's Buffalo Collective has been awarded $55,000 through the Radical Collaboration Fund's Grantmaking Council by the BLIS Collective.
What the RCF Saw in Our Work
The Grantmaking Council's response moved us deeply. They recognized that the Women's Buffalo Collective isn't just about outcomes on a spreadsheet. It's about the process itself: the healing that happens when Native women leaders gather to steward Buffalo and Land together, to strengthen collective power, to build trust and sisterhood rooted in ancestral wisdom and present-day resilience.
They saw that we understand transformative work unfolds in relationships, not just results. That rematriation, for Lipan Apache women, is both a spiritual return and a practical reclamation of our role as caretakers of Iyane'e and this Land.
An Invitation to Deepen Our Vision
The Grantmaking Council also offered something we're sitting with thoughtfully: an invitation to consider how the Women's Buffalo Collective might nurture sisterhood with non-Native Black women leaders as well. They recognize the sacred intention of our women's harvest for Native women, and they're asking us to think expansively about who else might be invited into spaces of rematriation and healing.
This is work we're approaching with care and intention. Black and Native solidarity has deep roots in our shared histories of dispossession and resistance. We're grateful for the encouragement to weave those connections deliberately and respectfully, and we're open to exploring what that looks like with the support of BLIS Collective and the Black women leaders within their network.
What Comes Next
This funding strengthens our ability to gather, to heal, to build collective power among women stewarding Buffalo and Land. It says that our way of resourcing one another, our commitment to kinship and reciprocity, our belief that transformation happens in relationship, matters.
