Community Guidelines for Volunteers
As a volunteer with Texas Tribal Buffalo Project, you are joining a community committed to respect, care, and cultural integrity. Please help us create a welcoming environment by following these guidelines:
1. Respect the Land & Animals
Honor the land and Buffalo that sustain us. Follow all instructions regarding safety, handling, and stewardship.
2. Respect People & Culture
We welcome people from many walks of life. Please engage with others respectfully and honor Indigenous culture, traditions, and protocols.
3. Show Up & Communicate
If you commit to a shift, please arrive on time. If you can’t make it, let us know as soon as possible so we can adjust.
4. Stay Safe
Follow staff directions at all times. Safety—for you, other volunteers, attendees, and animals—comes first.
5. Be a Team Player
Events run smoothly when we all work together. Be flexible, ask questions, and support your fellow volunteers.
6. Keep It Positive
We are here to serve our community. Bring patience, kindness, and a spirit of generosity to every interaction.
7. Zero Tolerance for Discrimination, Harassment, Alcohol, or Drugs
We do not tolerate discrimination, harassment, disruptive behavior, or being under the influence of alcohol or drugs during volunteer activities. Volunteers who violate these standards may be asked to leave immediately.
