Vendor Rules

  1. All products sold at market must be grown, raised, produced or value-added within (200 miles) of 78114

  2. Resale of commercially, mass produced items or brokered/wholesale items are NOT permitted

  3. Vendors offering samples must follow all health code regulations including having a covered booth.

  4. Each vendor booth must have a sign displaying the vendor’s business name

  5. Resale of a local producer’s goods is allowable under the following conditions:

    • The vendor is familiar with the growing or production of the source of the goods and the source of the goods is within (200) miles of the 78114

    • Products resold must be labeled with the name and/or location of where it was sourced

    • Resale of local products cannot break any regulations of Texas cottage food laws.

  6. All vendors must have a current food handler’s permit valid in the state of Texas.

  7. Market is every First Saturday of the month, at Texas Tribal Buffalo Project, 7693 FM 536 Floresville, TX 78114 from 10:00am to 2:00pm

    • Vendors must be fully set up by 9:45am

Product Specific Rules

Prepared Foods from Commercial Kitchens

  1. A prepared-food vendor who works out of a commercial inspected kitchen must keep a valid, current copy of all necessary licenses and permits at their booths.

  2. Vendors must comply with all state and local health regulations

Cottage Law

  1. Vendors must understand and follow all Cottage Law Regulations passed by Texas Legislation

Meats, Eggs, Dairy

  1. All meats, eggs and dairy products to be sold at the market must meet Federal, State and Local preparation, licensing, labeling and storage regulations

  2. Egg vendors permits are not needed unless making special claims (organic, soy free…..) or eggs are graded.

Produce and Nursery

  1. The term “organic” may only be used by farms who are currently Certified Organic through the USDA.Vendors who are Certified Organic must display their certificate.

  2. Vendors selling non-vegetable plants and/or cut flowers must have Class 2 and Class M nursery/floral licenses from the Texas Department of Agriculture and a sales tax permit.

  3. Vendors are responsible for collecting their own sales tax.

Fresh Market Meals

  1. Vendors selling prepared meals or beverages intended to be consumed on site (including food vendors) must follow appropriate health department regulations

  2. Generators must be placed in a manner that, as much as possible, obstructs their sound from market patrons and fellow vendors.

Fees

  1. 1st Month will be free

  2. Vendor fee (if applicable): $15 per market depending on space needed

Please Note: For 2025 the structure will be from August to November and will pick back up in March of 2026.

  1. Vendors with a set up larger than a 10’x10’ will be required to purchase two spaces.

  2. Weekly spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Approval Processes & Special Situations

  1. All vendors must fill out our Texas Tribal Buffalo Project Vendor Application and acknowledge that they have read, understood and agreed to these rules.

  2. Farmers’ Market manager will review applications and could make contact for further information. Applications may be asked to email copies of documents for the manager to keep on file.

  3. Applications may be approved or denied by the Farmer’s Market Manager. Applicants may be asked to pass a trial period before approval. At any time, the Farmers’ Market Committee may ask vendors to modify their practices in order to meet the rules or quality standards of the market. Any vendors who do not modify practices in a satisfactory manner may have their approval removed.

  4. If changes or temporary modifications to the Farmers’ Market rules arise, they will be emailed or printed for vendors to review.
