The past few weeks have picked up pace here on the ranch. From building fences to remodeling our new Iyane’e House to the arrival of more Buffalo calves, we’ve been in full swing. In many ways, it feels like the temperature has been inching up, the pressure compounding out in the world.
So when the rainfall came last week—breaking the summer haze—it was welcomed. The water fell, relentless. A forced halt. A forced rest. A reset. We’re grateful for the rain that fills these creeks and rivers, gifting our herd a swimming hole to cool off in.
As the solstice nears and the days continue to stretch long, the Iyane’e teach us: keep moving, even slowly. Keep returning to water, to rest, to each other.
